The Gospel Will Move Forward
As you study God’s instruction in Doctrine and Covenants 65 to carry the gospel to the whole earth, help your students recognize the part they can play in bringing to pass His will. One way we can help bring the gospel to everyone is through missionary work, and missionary work can be done in many ways. In his April 2013 conference address, “It’s a Miracle,” Elder Neil L. Andersen described our part in bringing the gospel to those around us:
“Brothers and sisters, as surely as the Lord has inspired more missionaries to serve, He is also awakening the minds and opening the hearts of more good and honest people to receive His missionaries. You already know them or will know them. They are in your family and live in your neighborhood. They walk past you on the street, sit by you in school, and connect with you online. You too are an important part of this unfolding miracle.
“… All of us have a contribution to make to this miracle.”
Each of us has a part to play in God’s glorious plan to spread the gospel across the globe, but just as importantly, we can help spread the gospel to those around us. The stone that is cut from the mountain without hands starts small, but as it continues to roll, it becomes larger until it fills the whole earth (see Doctrine and Covenants 65:2). Likewise, spreading the gospel to even one person can begin the process of bringing many people to the gospel.
This Christmas season, you can share the gift of the gospel. As you strive to #LightTheWorld, consider sharing the light of the gospel with those closest to you in your home, school, work, and community. The best way for us to celebrate Christ’s life is by following His example and sharing the gospel and lovingly teaching those around us. Share the gospel, share your testimony of the Book of Mormon, and #ShareGoodness. By genuinely sharing what is most precious to you, you help the stone continue to roll throughout the world.
Invite Students to Share
Encourage your students to ponder their role in preparing for the Bridegroom (see Doctrine and Covenants 65:3). Testify that as they pray to the Lord and glorify God, they can help spread the message of Christ and His gospel. Remind them that they each have a part to play in bringing souls unto Christ. Then invite them to share their testimony on social media.
