President Spencer W. Kimball recently was visited by a number of Indian performers who are appearing in a film being produced by Brigham Young University’s Department of Motion Picture Production. Titled “A Different Drum,” The film is a commercial production aimed at encouraging Indian youth to seek higher education. Featured in the film are Dan George, a Swinomish Indian chief of North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and Jay Silverheels, known for his radio and television role as Tonto in the “Lone Ranger” series.
