For Husbands and Wives

“Marriage,” said President Spencer W. Kimball, “can be more an exultant ecstasy than the human mind can conceive. This is within the reach of every couple.”

But such a marriage does not just happen. A successful union is the result of mature commitment, personal selflessness, unity, and loving understanding. Such a marriage includes the ability and willingness to share spiritual feelings, show love and affection, support and encourage each other, resolve normal and natural differences, and communicate effectively.

Though a marriage can be “difficult,” said President Kimball, and frustrations are common, “yet real, lasting happiness is possible.”

The following ideas offer ways husbands and wives can strengthen their relationship and increase marital happiness.
