Saturday Morning, 6 October 1984, General Session

The Salt Lake Mormon Tabernacle Choir, directed by Jerold Ottley, with organist John Longhurst, sang “For All the Saints” by Vaughan Williams/How (Hymns, 1985), “How Beautiful upon the Mountains” by Harker (G. Schirmer), “Come, All Ye Saints Who Dwell on Earth” by Phelps, arr. Cundick (Hymns, no. 12), “Go Forth with Faith” by Gardner/Gardner (Hymns, 1985), “Oh, How Lovely Was the Morning” by Manookin/Manwaring (Sonos), and “Father, This Hour Has Been One of Joy” by Shurtleff/Hunter (Hymns, 1985). The congregation sang “Let Us All Press On” by Stephens (Hymns, no. 98).

Saturday Afternoon, 6 October 1984, General Session

The Mormon Youth Chorus, directed by Robert C. Bowden, with organist Clay Christiansen, sang “Our Savior’s Love” by Gates/Hart (Hymns, 1985), “Hark, All Ye Nations” (Hymns, 1985), “Nearer, My God, to Thee” by Mason/Adams (Hymns, no. 124), and “The Spirit of God Like a Fire” by Phelps, arr. Bowden (manuscript). The congregation sang “We Thank Thee, O God, for a Prophet” by Norton/Fowler (Hymns, no. 196).

Saturday Evening, 6 October 1984, Priesthood Session

The Combined Tabernacle Choir and Mormon Youth Men’s Choir, directed by Donald Ripplinger and Robert C. Bowden, with organist Robert Cundick, sang “Jesus, My Savior True” by Huish (Hymns, no. 309), “What Was Witnessed in the Heavens” by Stephens/Davis (Hymns, no. 299), and “All Glory, Laud, and Honor” by Teschner/St. Theodulph, arr. Schreiner (J. Fischer & Bro.). The congregation sang “Praise to the Man” by Phelps (Hymns, no. 326).

The Tabernacle Choir, directed by Jerold Ottley and Donald Ripplinger, with organist Robert Cundick, sang “With Songs of Praise” by Brown/Allen (Hymns, 1985), “Come, We That Love the Lord” by Williams/Watts (Hymns, no. 25), “God Bless Our Prophet Dear” by Dean/Snow (Hymns, 1985), “Faith of Our Fathers” by Hemy-Walton/Faber, arr. Longhurst (Hymns, 1985), “The Lord Is My Shepherd” by Koschat (Hymns, no. 104), and “Go Forth into the World in Peace” by Sjolund (Hinshaw). The congregation sang “I Am a Child of God” by Pettit/Randall (Hymns, 1985).
