[Days of ’47 Parade]

President Howard W. Hunter waves to tens of thousands who gathered to watch Salt Lake City’s Days of ’47 Parade on Monday, July 25. The parade, one of the largest in the United States, is only one of many events held throughout the Church to commemorate the arrival of Latter-day Saint pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley in 1847. Latter-day Saints churchwide often celebrate pioneer days in various ways, including children’s parades, pioneer games and activities, and ward activities.
