Autumn Airmen

Seedlings bound on unknown flights

Are sailing through the autumn sky.

Fluffy milkweed parachutes

And thistledown balloons float by.

Tiny airmen chart their course

In search of proper landing strips.

Fertile soil and rain and sun

Will welcome tiny seedling ships.
