Friend to Friend:

Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Redeemer

Easter is a time to prayerfully thank our Heavenly Father for the birth and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ, who died for all of us.

Our message is that we are living in the great and last dispensation of the gospel of Jesus Christ; that God has opened the heavens anew; that by direct revelation … He has revealed Himself, restored His gospel, and set up His Church with power and authority to preach the gospel and administer the saving ordinances thereof; and that He is now, today, continuing to direct by revelation His great program for the blessing and the salvation of the human race.

By precept and example we should do all that lies within our power to take the message of the gospel, the Lord’s solution to our problems, to the peoples of the earth and inspire them to look to Him and live.

Jesus exercised power over all things. He healed the sick, restored the lame, gave sight to the blind, cast out devils, and raised the dead. He turned water into wine, cursed the barren fig tree, stilled the storm, and walked upon the sea. He miraculously fed the four and the five thousand and provided the tribute money.

I think Jesus gave the answer as to how to go about getting a testimony as well as it has ever been given. As He taught in the temple at the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles, the Jews, although they were even then plotting His death, marveled at His teachings and said,

How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?

Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. (John 7:16–17. Italics added.)

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the literal kingdom of God in the earth; … neither defectors from within nor enemies from without can stay its progress. It is here to stay and to triumph. In the words of Moroni, The eternal purposes of the Lord shall roll on, until all his promises shall be fulfilled. (Morm. 8:22. Italics added.)

Let us not forget that God lives, that we are His children, that His purpose is to bring us to immortality and eternal life. Let us always remember … that all man has learned and accomplished, together with all that he will yet learn and accomplish in mortality, is as a drop in the ocean compared to the knowledge and works of God.
