Spring Is a Tiger

A tiger is creeping on velvet paws.

He’s hiding his teeth and his terrible claws.

Lightly, politely, he’s stirring the grasses.

Softly, so softly he sighs as he passes.

He’s sniffing at blossoms and smelling perfume

And feeling as light as a flower in bloom.
