Scripture Animals

Some of the animals mentioned in the scriptures are pictured on this page. Find the picture that completes each story, and write the name of that animal in the appropriate blank. Think of other animals mentioned in the scriptures and draw pictures of them. Describe each situation, and see if family members can guess what animal fits each story.

Frogs

1. Elijah was a prophet of God. During a terrible famine when there was no food, the Lord sent ______ to feed Elijah. They brought him bread and meat. (See 1 Kgs. 17:6.)

Lion

2. Abraham sent his servant to find a worthy wife for his son Isaac. As Isaac was in the fields one evening, he saw the servant and his (Isaac’s) bride-to-be, Rebekah, coming on their ______. (See Gen. 24:63.)

Horses

3. Ammon went on a mission to the Lamanites. He offered to be a servant to the king to show that he was his friend. The Lord helped Ammon save the king’s flocks from some wicked men. While the other servants were telling the king about Ammon’s bravery, Ammon was busy feeding the king’s ______. (See Alma 18:9.)

Camels

4. When Moses was trying to get the Israelites out of Egypt, the Lord sent plagues upon Pharaoh and the Egyptians. One was a plague of ______, which went into their houses, their beds, and their ovens—and even upon the people! (See Ex. 8:3.)

Ravens

5. Samson was a strong man. One day he killed a ______ with his bare hands when it attacked him. (See Judg. 14:5–6.)
