“Under My Feet,” Friend, May 1984, inside back cover

Under My Feet

Under my feet are so many things—

Some with legs and some with wings,

Some that walk and some that crawl—

And all of them are very small.

Some are worms and some are bugs;

Some are slippery, slimy slugs.

Some are ants and some are snails;

Some have funny heads or tails.

I must be careful where I walk;

I must be careful, or I’ll knock

Some tiny creature off the grass

And send it tumbling as I pass.

I’ll try to be careful, for I know

If I were a bug, I’d say, “Go slow.

Watch where you’re stepping, for, you see,

Under your feet—

it

might

be

ME!”
