Little Green Fish

For this finger play, put the palms and fingers of your hands together to make a fish. Keep them together throughout the finger play.

1. Little green fish swimming along.

(sway hands back and forth)

2. Bubbling out fishy songs,

(open and close fingers to form mouth)

3. Circling round stalky reeds,

(move hands in a circular motion)

4. Nibbling on fresh green seaweed.

(open and close fingers to form mouth)

5. Gaily jumping through the waves,

(move hands up and down)

6. Carefully swimming into dark caves—

(bring hands close to body and slowly move them away from you)

7. Quickly, dive into a hole!

(bend until hands are near floor)

8. Watch out for the squid below.

(move hands to peek from side to side)

9. Swim fast toward the distant shore,

(stand up and rapidly move hands in swimming motion)

10. Then go to sleep on the sandy floor.

(tilt hands sideways and gently sway them)
