Kitchen Krafts

Grilled Ham, Cheese, and Peanut Butter Sandwich

margarine

2 slices bread

1 slice Cheddar cheese

1 slice ham

1 tablespoon peanut butter

  1. Spread margarine on one side of a slice of bread. Place it, margarine side down, in a cold skillet.

  2. Put the cheese and then the ham on top of the bread.

  3. Spread peanut butter on one side of the other slice of bread. Place it, peanut butter side down, on top of the ham.

  4. Spread margarine on the top of the sandwich.

  5. Put the skillet on the stove over medium-low heat. Cook until the bread is brown and the cheese begins to melt.

  6. Using a pancake turner, carefully turn the sandwich over. Cook it until the second side is brown.

Makes one sandwich.

Date and Nut Roll-Up

1 tablespoon peanut butter

1 small flour tortilla

3–4 pitted dates

  1. Spread the peanut butter on one side of the tortilla.

  2. Place the dates in a line, end to end, near one side of the tortilla. Starting at the date side, roll up the tortilla and secure it with a toothpick.

Makes one roll-up.

Chocolate Peanut-Butter Treat

2 slices white bread

1 tablespoon chocolate or fudge sauce

9–12 miniature marshmallows

1 tablespoon peanut butter

  1. Spread the sauce on one side of a slice of bread.

  2. Top the sauce with the marshmallows.

  3. Spread peanut butter on one side of the other slice of bread. Place it, peanut butter side down, on top of the marshmallows. This sandwich is definitely different—but yummy!

Makes one treat.
