Treasure Map

To make an old-looking treasure map, you will need: paper (brown wrapping paper works well), a pencil or black pen, and crayons or colored pencils.

  1. For a family home evening, hide a treasure—either the refreshments or an object to be used in a lesson.

  2. Draw a map on the piece of paper that shows where the treasure has been hidden.

  3. Crumple the paper into a tight ball.

  4. Carefully uncrumple the paper and smooth it out.

  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 five to seven times, until the paper is very old and worn looking.

  6. 6. Place the paper between two heavy books to flatten it.
