The Journey

During the three years of the Savior’s mission in the Holy Land his journey took him from Bethany to the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. But more important than the places he visited are the real meaning and true mission of his journey. His life demonstrates by example that to follow the Savior means to love, to understand, to live by faith, to have compassion and concern for our fellowman. His great message of the new gospel was given during his Sermon on the Mount:

“Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

“That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.” Matt 5:44–45

“Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.” Matt. 7:12

“And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.” Matt. 21:14

“And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

“And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.” Mark 1:17–18

“Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.

“But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Matt. 19:13–14

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” John 8:12

“And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.

“And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.” Luke 8:47–48
