Thank you so much for the article on journals in the September 1993 FYI. I write in my journal, but I find my ideas boring or stupid. I tried the two weeks of ideas you suggested and they were great. Keep up the good work.

When I found out the New Era subscription was for me, I thought the magazine would be boring. But I was wrong. I read “They Have Quarterbacks in Heaven” (Oct. 1993) and almost cried when Jacson died. The story made me want to go to the hospital and entertain ill kids there.

I would like to thank the New Era for “He Is There” in the October 1993 issue. Many people don’t realize that our Heavenly Father is always there to listen to our prayers. It is important for us to understand that we can go to him in good times or bad. I have needed the Lord’s help several times, and whenever I’ve gone to him I have received an answer. I’m so thankful that Heavenly Father is such a big part of my life.

I’m really grateful for the article “Rock Heart” in the June 1993 issue. I recently found out my mother will be getting married soon, meaning I’ll have a stepfather. Thank you for doing an article on a deaf person (”Good Vibrations,” Oct. 1993). I really enjoyed it. I’m not deaf myself, but I do know sign language. That article helped me understand the challenges faced by those living in a hearing world.

I wanted to thank you so much for the story “Angie’s Gray” in the February 1993 issue. I saw it before I went to school, and something told me to read this story. I thought about Heavenly Father’s plan and how glad I am that the gospel is restored and that there is a way to see my loved ones after death if I live the gospel. When I got home from work later in the day, I was told my grandfather had passed away. Thinking about that story helped me greatly in dealing with the pain. Thank you so much.
