One of the greatest blessings we received when we came to earth is a physical body. The Word of Wisdom, found in Doctrine and Covenants section 89, teaches us “the order and will of God in the temporal salvation of all saints in the last days” (v. 2). Following are testimonies of the Word of Wisdom from Latter-day Saints around the world.
I told them that the Word of Wisdom is a law that teaches that we should keep our bodies clean, because they are temples of God.
One day Yukari said to her mother, “I want to drink coffee milk like everyone else.” Her mother sat down with her and helped her understand that Heavenly Father loves her, that He doesn’t want her to drink coffee, and that it is a commandment.
I had faithfully lived the Word of Wisdom since my baptism. In my mind I said, “No, I will not.”
“All saints who remember to keep and do these sayings … shall receive health in their navel and marrow to their bones” (D&C 89:18).
“Inasmuch as any man drinketh wine or strong drink among you, behold it is not good, neither meet in the sight of your Father” (D&C 89:5).
