Elder Quentin L. Cook of the Quorum of the Twelve visited seven of the 12 missions in Peru and met with members and leaders in that country from August 19−26, 2013.
His purpose was to convey the vision of how a “union” and “team effort” of members and missionaries is needed in the work of salvation. “I thought the response was remarkable,” he said.
Noting that there will probably be 85,000 missionaries in the field by the end of the year, Elder Cook said the “significant increase” indicates the Lord is hastening His work. “There has never been, in this dispensation or any other dispensation, anything like that.”
