Updated Talking Book

Church magazines and manuals are available in DAISY (Digital Accessible Information System) format for members with limited vision or blindness. They can be accessed online by downloading the DAISY files from the Church Disability website or by ordering a cartridge for a specialized player by calling 1-800-537-5971.
In August 2012 the Church News and Events website highlighted the program in an article called “Updated Talking Book Program Benefits Church Members with Disabilities” that goes into further details about recent updates to the Talking Book Program.

Including Members with Disabilities

An article in the September Ensign called “Finding Our Way Back” gives an example of how a ward family came together to welcome back and include a family with a child who has autism. It also gives tips for reaching out to members with disabilities.
