An Act of Kindness

An article in the July 2013 Ensign called “A Television and a Spirit Lifted” shows how a bishop took the time to care for a member of his ward who was deaf. His act of kindness helped the deaf member feel welcomed and included.

Adapting the Classroom Experience

An article in the July 2013 Ensign titled “Teaching the One” demonstrates how parents, teachers, and ward leaders worked together to make sure a boy with autism is able to learn the gospel. They understood that the program needed to be adapted to help him participate in class activities.

Reaching Out to Children with Disabilities

The Primary theme is “All thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children” (3 Nephi 22:13). A video shared at the 2013 Primary Auxiliary Leadership Training called “Children with Disabilities” highlights this theme. It shows how one Primary is working to bring all children unto Christ, including those with disabilities.
