Family Discovery Day was held February 14, 2015, as part of RootsTech in Salt Lake City, Utah. Apostles and other Church leaders testified of the blessings that come to our families and us today when we participate in the sacred work of redeeming our own ancestors.
“As an apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ I leave my blessing upon you with a promise that if you look beyond the bonds of time and of mortality and help those who cannot help themselves, you will be blessed with more closeness and joy in your family, and with the divine protections afforded those who are faithful in his service.”
“This year let’s add eight words to the temple challenge: Prepare as many names for the temple as baptisms you perform in the temple, and help someone else to do the same.”

As you find the names of ancestors to take to the temple, you join with the Savior and therefore become unified in His mission to “bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and [to open] the prison to them that [are] bound”
