1. Prepare Spiritually
Pray as you prepare to help others and pray with those you are helping. Prayerfully seek the Spirit in your calling.
2. Discover Their Goals
It is essential to understand what the person you are helping wants to do in their family history efforts. You should focus on helping them with their goal
3. Get Access to Their Family Tree
Ask the person you are helping for permission to plan a lesson using their own family tree. You can gain permission through the consultant planner.
4. Prepare and Deliver a Personalized Lesson
Prepare and deliver a one-on-one lesson plan to help the individual or family accomplish their goals and begin their family history.
5. Point Them to the Temple
Focus your efforts where possible on temple ordinances. Invite those you are helping to involve other family members in their temple service.
6. Find Others to Teach
During the lesson, ask them whom they could help to enjoy a similar experience or if they know someone else who would be blessed by family history.
