Description

The Book of Mormon is known by name throughout the world. However, most people don’t know what its message is. This activity gives people a chance to see what’s inside. So far, thousands of people have participated from all around the world.

As a result of the experiment, many people have a positive experience with the Book of Mormon, realize that it talks about Jesus Christ, and often ask questions or express a desire to learn more.

The Activity

At a location with good foot traffic, ask people if they’d like to try the Book of Mormon Experiment. Explain that you have a random page from the book; the experiment is for them to read the page and mark references to God and Jesus Christ.

After they’ve read and marked the page, ask what they thought about it. Be sincere and listen carefully. Offer to write down what they shared on the back of the page, and return the page to them. (On the back of each page is a link to thebookofmormon.org, where they can see what others shared.) If they express interest in learning more, share with them! Match what you share to the subject they are interested in and the level of their interest.

If you are a youth and you receive contact information from someone who wants to learn more, share the contact details with the full-time missionaries as soon as possible.
