Always Remember Him

Every Sunday, we are given the opportunity to remember and renew our baptismal covenants as we partake of the sacrament.

The sacrament involves partaking of bread and water. The broken bread reminds us of the physical suffering and death Christ overcame for us, and the small cups of water remind us of the spiritual suffering that caused Him to bleed from every pore for the remission of our sins. The sacrament is a powerful reminder of the price the Savior paid in atoning for us.

“Surely that is why this particular ordinance with all its symbolism and imagery comes to us more readily and more repeatedly than any other in our life,” Elder Holland said. “It comes in what has been called the most sacred, the most holy, of all the meetings of the Church.”
