Focus on the Savior
My favorite talk was from Elder Yoon Hwan Choi because he encourages me to fix my gaze not on the problems and imperfections of the world but on Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, who radiate glory, perfection, and love. I testify that when I hold fast to the Savior, He blesses me with peace of mind and a strong testimony of the gospel.

In his talk, Elder L. Whitney Clayton repeated the phrase, “Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.” Many times, I’ve prayed for guidance but hesitated to act when I received an answer. Mary’s faith never faltered even when she was called to be the mother of the Savior. Her example teaches me that in order to grow, I must let the Lord lead me, without hesitation. My goal is to act with faith and courage on the answers I receive. I know that if I trust in the Lord and “do it,” I can feel peace in the guidance He gives me.

Turn Away from Sin
This general conference I saw a focus on turning away from sin. (Read “A Sin-Resistant Generation” by Sister Joy D. Jones or “Overcoming the World” by Elder Neil L. Andersen.) I was inspired to read my scriptures and pray daily with the intent to grow closer to my Heavenly Father. I want to avoid sin even when everyone else tells me to embrace it. When others sin, we should love them and see them how Heavenly Father and Jesus see them. (Read “Our Good Shepherd” by Elder Dale G. Renlund.) By doing this, we not only help them to find real joy but also strengthen and build our own testimony. Act now. Stand strong. Rise above sin. And be part of Heavenly Father’s righteous army.

One thing that I really liked from conference was Elder Yoon Hwan Choi’s quote, “Don’t look around, look up.” When we look around at what other people are doing, we might feel like we are missing out. But when we look up, we receive many more blessings than we would get if we were looking around. I feel like personally the best way I can look up right now is through doing the little things like daily prayer and scripture study and focusing on my relationship with Christ.

What Heavenly Father Thinks
I really liked President Uchtdorf’s talk about how we shouldn’t fear, because many times we pay too much attention to what the world is going to think of us. We worry, “What are they going to think? Are they still going to like me? What if they think I’m weird?” I don’t want to be known as a goody two-shoes, but what others think of us won’t matter in ten years or even in a thousand—because we are eternal beings. So I am going to try to worry less about what the world thinks and worry more about what Heavenly Father thinks.
