Hi, I’m Manning and this is my new
friend Chaz and his daughter, Willa.
Chaz is a professional animator. Let's
see what we create together.

I like to draw for fun, but Chaz draws for his job. I’m excited
to learn more about animation.
So these are really neat here too.
Can you see that?
So this is called a zoetrope. Manning,
go ahead and give that a spin.
And then look right at those
mirrors right there.
How can so many little pictures
make one moving thing? That's a great question. Yeah. Each picture moves just a tiny
little bit each time, each time. And then as you do them fast altogether, it just starts to come alive like that.
Should we make a flipbook? Sure.
Okay, let's do it.

Manning. What made you
think to do a bunny?
It’s my favorite animal.
Is it?
Yeah. Oh, dang. Do you have any rabbits
or anything? Yeah. You do? That's awesome. All right. Yeah.
Let's see.
Perfect. That's really good.
All right, so this is my animation
studio. What do you guys think? So cool.
Thank you. So I've been making
these flip books that I wanted to show you guys.
If you guys heard of the wise
man and the foolish man?
Yeah. I made these flip books to
introduce those characters. The wise man. And... The foolish
man! And the foolish man.
Well, can I show you the animation
I've been working on? Yeah.
All right, let's take a look.
In the Book of Mormon, there are times
when people are choosing to follow Jesus. And times when people are
choosing not to follow Jesus.
Jesus taught about two men who
wanted to build a house.
One man was wise and the
other man was foolish.
The wise man decided to build
his house on a strong and solid foundation made of rocks.
While the foolish man decided to build
his house on soft and weak sand.
When it rained, the water rushed down.
The house built by the wise man, stood strong because it had
a strong foundation.
But the house built by the falls man
fell down because it was built on sand which washed away.
Following Jesus Christ is like building
a house on solid rocks.
It means that when I have hard times, I can depend on Jesus to comfort me and
guide me through the Holy Ghost.
I love this story because it helps
me to remember that my faith in Jesus Christ can help me stand strong while the world around me seems
to be falling apart.
Wow. Well, thank you for letting
me show you guys, and thanks for checking out my studio.
Well, thank you for teaching
me how to do a flip book. You bet, Manning. I hope we get to
animate together again sometime. It's amazing to see all of those little
drawings come together to make an awesome animation. Thanks, Chaz
and Willa. See you later.
