第42章
富有的年輕人

有一天，一位富有的年輕人來到耶穌身邊，問祂應該怎麼做才能進天國。

救主告訴他，要愛父母、孝敬父母，不可以殺人、不可以說謊或偷東西。富有的年輕人說，他從小就遵守這些誡命。

耶穌告訴這位年輕人，他還必須做到一件事，就是要變賣一切所有，把錢捐給窮人，然後這位年輕人要來跟從祂。

這位富有的年輕人不想放棄他擁有的一切，他愛他的財物勝過愛神，於是很難過地走開了。

救主告訴門徒，貪愛錢財的人很難進天國。門徒不了解這句話的意思，就問誰可以和神住在一起。耶穌說，信賴神、又愛祂勝過一切的人才可以和祂一起住在天國。
