Na‘e ma‘u ha taha ‘o e ngaahi fakahā ko iá ‘i he ‘Aho Kilisimasi ‘o e 1832. Na‘e nofo pē ‘a e Palōfitá ‘i ha konga lahi ‘o e ‘ahó ‘i honau ‘apí, ‘o fakakaukauloto lahi ki he ngaahi palopalema faingata‘a na‘e fehangahangai mo e ngaahi fonua ‘o māmaní ‘i he kuonga ko iá. Na‘e pehē ai ‘e he Palōfitá, “Na‘e toe hā mahino ange ‘a e ngaahi faingata‘a ‘i he ngaahi pule‘angá ‘i he fa‘ahita‘u ko ‘ení ‘o laka ange ‘i ha toe taimi ki mu‘a, talu ‘a e kamata fononga mai ‘a e Siasí mei he toafá.” Na‘e iku ‘a e ngaahi me‘a na‘e hoko ‘i he ‘Iunaiteti Siteití ki ha tau fakalotofonua, pea mafola lahi mo e tō ‘a ha mahaki faka‘auha ‘i he funga ‘o māmaní. ‘Oku fakahoko ‘a e ngaahi faka‘ilonga ‘o e toe hā‘ele mai ‘a e Fakamo‘uí; pea ‘e fakatokanga‘i ‘e he kakai angatonú ‘a e ngaahi faka‘ilongá ni mo ma‘u ha nonga ‘i he taimi ‘o e faingata‘á.

“Si‘i kāinga ‘ofeina, ‘oku tau fakatokanga‘i kuo hoko mai ‘a e ngaahi taimi fakatu‘utāmakí, ‘o hangē ko ia na‘e fakamo‘oni‘í [vakai, 2 Tīmote 3:1]. Na‘e pehē ‘e he Palōfita ko Siosefa Sāmitá fekau‘aki mo ha tangata na‘á ne pehē na‘á ne mamata ki he faka‘ilonga ‘o e foha ‘o e Tangatá: “Na‘e ‘ikai ke mamata ia ki he faka‘ilonga ‘o e Foha ‘o e Tangatá, ‘o hangē ko hono mu‘aki folofola‘aki ‘e Sīsuú; kuo te‘eki ai ha taha, pe ‘e ‘i ai ha taha, kae ‘oua kuo fakapo‘uli‘i ‘a e la‘aá mo ‘ufi‘ufi ‘a e māhiná ‘i he totó; he kuo te‘eki ai fakahā ‘e he ‘Eikí kiate au ha fa‘ahinga faka‘ilonga pehē; pea hangē ko hono lea‘aki ‘e he palōfitá, kuo pau ke pehē pē—‘He ‘ikai fai ha me‘a ‘e [he ‘Eiki] ko e ‘Otuá, kae ta‘e fakahā ‘Ene me‘aliló ki He‘ene kau tamaio‘eiki ko e kau palōfitá.’ (Vakai, ‘Āmosi 3:7.)
