‘Oku fakahoko fiefia ‘e he kau loto-to‘á ‘a e me‘a kotoa ‘oku nau lavá, ‘o a‘u ai pē ki he taimi ‘o e faingata‘á.

Na‘e fai ‘e he Palōfitá ‘a e tohí ni ki he Siasí ‘i Sepitema ‘o e 1842, pea na‘e lekooti ia ki mui ‘i he Tokāteline mo e Ngaahi Fuakava 128:19, 22: “Ko ‘eni, ko e hā ‘a e me‘a kuo tau fanongo ki ai ‘i he ongoongolelei kuo tau ma‘ú? Ko ha le‘o ‘o e ‘alo‘ofa mei he langí; pea ko ha le‘o ‘o e mo‘oní mei he kelekelé; ko e ngaahi ongoongo fakafiefia ki he kau pekiá; ko e le‘o ‘o e fiefia ki he kakai mo‘uí pea mo e kau pekiá; ko e ngaahi ongoongo fakafiefia ‘o e fu‘u fiefia lahi. … ‘E kāinga, he ‘ikai koā ke tau fai atu ‘i ha ngāue mahu‘inga pehē? Laka atu ki mu‘a kae ‘oua ‘e fakaholoholomui. Ke mou loto-to‘a, ‘e kāinga; pea fai atu, fai atu ki he ikuna! Tuku ke fiefia ‘a homou lotó pea nēkeneka ‘o lahi ‘aupito.”6

Na‘e fakamatala ‘a e Palōfitá fekau‘aki mo e tupulekina ‘a e Siasí ‘i he 1831: “Na‘e hā mahino na‘e ‘omi ‘e he ‘Eikí kiate kimautolu ha mālohi ‘o fe‘unga mo e ngāue ke fakahokó, mo ha ivi ‘o fakatatau mo e pue kuo tuku ‘i homau ‘aó, mo e ‘alo‘ofa pea mo ha tokoni ‘o fakatatau mo ‘emau ngaahi fiema‘ú.”7

‘Oku manako ‘a e taha loto-to‘á ‘i he ngāue ‘a Kalaisí mo feinga ke fakatupulaki ‘a e ngaahi ‘ulungāanga faka-Kalaisí.

“Ko ha taha ‘ofa au he ngāue ‘a Kalaisí pea ‘i he anga-haohaoá, mo e anga-ma‘á, mo e faitotonú, mo e ‘ulungāanga ‘oku ‘ikai feliliuakí, pea mo e ‘a‘eva mā‘oni‘oní.”8

“ ‘Oku ou tui ki he mo‘ui anga-ma‘a, faitotonu mo mā‘oni‘oni ‘i he ‘ao ‘o e ‘Otuá, mo ongo‘i ko hoku fatongia ke fakaloto‘i ‘a e kakai kotoa pē ‘i hoku mālohí ke nau fai ‘a e me‘a tatau, koe‘uhí ke nau ala tuku ‘a e fai koví mo feinga ke fai lelei, pea veteki ‘enau ngaahi angahalá ‘aki ‘a e mā‘oni‘oní.”9

“… Kuo pau ke hoko ‘a e mā‘oni‘oní ko e taumu‘a ia ‘a e Kāingalotú ‘i he me‘a kotoa pē, pea ko e taimi ‘e paaki ai [‘a e Tokāteline mo e Ngaahi Fuakavá], te nau ‘ilo kuo pau ke fie ma‘u ha ngaahi me‘a lahi meiate kinautolu. Failelei mo ngāue mā‘oni-‘oni ‘i ha mata ‘oku sio tāfataha pē ki he fakalāngilangi‘i ‘o e ‘Otuá, pea te mou utu ‘a homou palé ‘i he taimi ‘e totongi huhu‘i ai ‘e he ‘Eikí ‘a e taha kotoa ‘o fakatatau mo ‘ene ngāué. … ‘I he huafa ‘o Sīsū Kalaisí, ‘oku mau kōlenga atu ke mou mo‘ui taau mo e ngaahi tāpuaki ‘e muimui mai ‘i he hili ‘o e ngaahi faingata‘á, ke ne fakafiemālie‘i kakato ‘a e laumālie ‘o kinautolu ‘oku tu‘u ma‘u ‘o a‘u ki he ngata‘angá.”10

“Ke mou angamalū mo loto fakatōkilalo, angatonu mo haohaoa; ‘oatu e lelei ‘o fetongi ‘aki e koví. … Ke mou loto fakatōkilalo mo fa‘a kātaki ‘i he ngaahi tūkunga kotoa pē ‘o e mo‘uí; pea ‘e toki nāunau‘ia ange ‘etau ikuná.”13
