Naʻe ofo ʻa Palesiteni Siosefa Filitingi Sāmita ʻi he fakalakalaka fakatekinolosia ʻo hono kuongá. Naʻá ne pehē, “Kuo ʻi ai ha fakalakalaka lahi ʻi he tafaʻaki fakamīsiní, fakakemí, fīsikí, tafá mo ha ngaahi meʻa kehe pē. Kuo faʻu ʻe he tangatá ha fuʻu telesikoupi lalahi ʻo tau mamata ai ki he ngaahi pupunga fetuʻu ne pulipuliá. Pea fakafou he tokoni ʻa e telesikoupí, kuo lahi ai e fanga kiʻi manu iiki (microorganisms) kuo lava ʻo ʻiloʻí. … Kuo nau ʻiloʻi e ngaahi founga ke taʻotaʻofi ʻaki e mahakí. … Kuo nau faʻu ha ngaahi mīsini ʻoku pelepelengesi ange ia he ala ʻa e tangatá, pea mamaʻo ange ʻene sió ʻaʻana ʻi he meʻa ʻe lava ke sio ki ai e tangatá. Kuo nau faʻu ha ngaahi meʻa mo ha mīsini te nau lava ʻo hiki e ngaahi moʻungá mo ha ngaahi meʻa kehe lahi kuo nau faʻu ka ʻoku fuʻu lahi ke fakalau. ʻIo, ko ha kuonga fakaʻofoʻofa ʻeni.” Ka neongo ia, naʻá ne tokanga ki ha meʻa ʻe taha ʻoku hehema ki ai ʻa e māmaní. Pe ʻikai fakatupu ʻi honau lotó ha loto fakatōkilalo mo e laumālie ʻo e fakatomalá, ka ko e fakamalaʻiá. … Kuo ʻikai tupulaki ʻi he māmaní ʻa e tuí pe ko e angamāʻoniʻoní pe ko e talangofua ki he ʻOtuá.”1

Neongo e tupulaki e taʻetokanga ʻa e māmaní ki he ʻOtuá, naʻe hanga ʻe Palesiteni Sāmita ia ʻo fakahaaʻi ʻa ʻene vāofi mo ʻene Tamai ʻi Hēvaní. Naʻe toe fakafoki mai “ʻa e ʻilo totonu fekauʻaki mo e ʻOtuá” ʻi he ʻUluaki Mata-meʻa-hā-mai ʻa Siosefa Sāmitá.

ʻOku totonu ke manatua naʻe mole mei he māmani faka-Kalisitiané kotoa ʻi he 1820, ʻa e tokāteline totonu fekauʻaki mo e ʻOtuá. Naʻe hanga ʻe he [ʻuluaki] meʻa-hā-mai ʻa Siosefa Sāmitá ʻo fakamahinoʻi mai e sino mavahevahe ʻa e Tamaí mo e ʻAló peá ne maʻu ha sino ʻoku tatau mo e sino ʻo e tangatá. Naʻe mamata ʻa Siosefa Sāmita ki he Tamaí mo e ʻAló; ko ia ʻe malava ke ne fakamoʻoni ai ʻi he ʻiloʻi fakatāutaha naʻe moʻoni ʻa e folofolá ʻi heʻene hā ai: “Ko ia naʻe ngaohi ʻa e tangatá ʻe he ʻOtuá ʻi hono tataú, naʻá ne ngaohi ia ʻi he tatau ʻo e ʻOtuá, naʻá ne ngaohi ʻa kinaua ko e tangata mo e fefine.” [Sēnesi 1:27.] Ko ha meʻa ʻeni ia naʻe pau pē ke mahino lelei kae ʻikai ʻi ha founga ngalikehe pe ʻi he fakatātā.5

ʻOku tau ʻiloʻi ʻoku ʻiloʻi ʻa e ʻOtuá ʻi he fakahā, pea ʻokú ne tuʻu ke fakahā mai ha ngaahi meʻa pe taʻeʻiloa ʻo lauikuonga. Kuo pau ke tau ō ki he folofolá—kae ʻikai ko e kau mataotao he saienisí pe kau filōsefá—kapau ʻoku tau fie ʻilo e moʻoni fekauʻaki mo e ʻOtuá. Ko e moʻoni, ʻoku talamai ʻe he kikite maʻongoʻonga ʻa Sione ʻo kau ki hono toe fakafoki mai ʻo e ongoongoleleí ʻe ha ʻāngelo ʻe puna ʻi he lotolotonga ʻo e langí, ʻe pau ke hoko ia kae lava ke ʻiloʻi ʻe he tangatá ʻa e ʻOtua moʻoní mo akonekina kinautolu: “Manavahē ki he ʻOtuá, pea ʻoatu ʻa e fakamālō kiate ia … pea hū kiate ia naʻá ne ngaohi ʻa e langí mo e māmaní pea mo e tahí, mo e ngaahi matavai ʻo e ngaahi vaí.” (Fakahā 14:7.) Kuo ui ʻe he ʻEiki ha kau palōfita he kuonga kotoa pē ke nau fakafepakiʻi ʻa e lotu ki he ʻotua loí pea mo talaki e moʻoní fekauʻaki mo e ʻOtuá. ʻI ʻIsileli ʻo e kuonga muʻá, naʻe ʻi ai ha niʻihi ne nau hū ki ha ngaahi fakatātā mo ha ʻotua tamapua, pea fehuʻi ai ʻe ʻĪsaia: “Pea te mou fakatatau kia hai ʻa e ʻOtuá? Pe ko e hā ha fakatātā te mou fakatatau kiate iá?

“ʻIkai naʻá ke ʻilo? ʻIkai naʻá ke fanongo ko Sihova ko e ʻOtua taʻengata ia, ko e tupuʻanga ʻio e ngaahi ngataʻanga ʻo māmaní, ʻoku ʻikai pongia ia, pea ʻoku ʻikai vaivai? ʻOku taʻe faʻa ʻiloʻi ʻa ʻene ʻiló.” (ʻĪsaia 40:18, 28.)

ʻOku ʻi ai ha tokolahi he māmaní he ʻahó ni ʻoku ʻikai ke nau maʻu e ʻilo ko ʻeni ki he ʻOtuá, pea ʻoku ʻi ai foki mo ha kakai [ʻi he Siasí] ʻoku teʻeki ai ke haohaoa ʻenau ʻilo ki heʻetau Tamai Taʻengatá. ʻE lava ke tau pehē ki he niʻihi ʻoku ʻikai ke nau maʻu e ʻilo ko ʻení: “Ko e hā ʻokú ke fakangatangata ai e nāunau ʻo e ʻOtuá? Pe ko e hā ʻoku pehē ai ʻokú ne maʻulalo ange he meʻa ʻokú ne ʻi aí? Kuo teʻeki ai nai ke ke ʻilo? Kuo teʻeki ai nai ke ke fanongo ko e ʻOtua taʻengatá, ʻa e ʻEikí mo e Tupuʻanga ʻo e ngataʻanga ʻo e māmaní, ʻoku ʻikai hano ngataʻanga pea taʻengata: ʻokú ne kātoi e mālohi kotoa pē, mafeia e meʻa kotoa pē mo aoniu ʻi he meʻa kotoa pē; ʻokú ne ʻafioʻi nai e meʻa kotoa pē mo hangaifofonga mai ki he meʻa kotoa pē?”

ʻI he vahe 20 ʻo e Tokāteline mo e Ngaahi Fuakavá, ʻa ia ne fakahinohinoʻi ai e Palōfita ko Siosefa Sāmitá ke ne toe fokotuʻu e Siasí ʻi he kuonga fakakōsipelí ni, ʻoku ʻomi kongokonga lalahi ai ha niʻihi ʻo e ngaahi tefitoʻi tokāteline ʻo e fakamoʻuí. ʻOku pehē ai ʻe he fakahaá ʻo kau ki he ʻOtuá: “… ʻoku ʻi ai ha ʻOtua ʻi he langí, ʻa ia ʻoku taʻe fakangatangata mo taʻengata, ʻoku mei he taʻengatá ki he taʻengata ʻa ia ko e ʻOtua tatau ʻoku taʻe-faʻa-liliu, ko e tupuʻanga ʻo e langí mo e māmaní mo e meʻa kotoa pē ʻoku ʻi aí.” (T&F 20:17.) …

Ko e ʻOtuá ʻetau Tamaí; ko hono tataú ʻoku faʻu e tangatá ʻo fakatatau ki aí. ʻOkú Ne maʻu ʻa e sino kakano mo e hui ʻo hangē pē ko e tangatá (T&F 130:22), pea ko e tamai totonu mo fakatāutaha ia ʻo e laumālie ʻo e kakai kotoa pē. ʻOkú ne mafeia mo aoniu; ʻokú ne maʻu e mālohi mo e poto kotoa pē; pea ʻoku kau ʻi heʻene haohaoá ʻa e ʻilo kotoa pē, tui pe mālohi kotoa pē, fakamaau totonu kotoa pē, ʻaloʻofa kotoa pē, moʻoni kotoa pē pea mo hono kakato ʻo e ngaahi ʻulungāanga fakaʻotua kotoa pē. … Kapau te tau maʻu e tui haohaoa ko ia te tau maʻu ʻaki ʻa e moʻui taʻengatá, kuo pau ke tau tui ʻoku maʻu ʻe he ʻOtuá ʻa hono kakato ʻo e ngaahi ʻulungāanga mo e tōʻonga moʻui kotoa ko ʻení. ʻOku ou pehē foki ko ha tokotaha taʻefaʻalaua mo taʻengata ia, pea ʻoku ʻikai ke ne feliliuaki, ʻokú ne maʻu e ngaahi mālohi mo e ʻulungāanga haohaoa ko ʻení mei he lauikuongá ki he lauikuongá, ʻa ia ko hono ʻuhingá mei he taʻengatá ki he taʻengatá. 6

ʻOku tau ʻiloʻi ko ʻetau Tamai Hēvaní ko ha tokotaha nāunauʻia mo hakeakiʻi ʻokú ne maʻu e mālohi, ivi mo e pule kotoa pē pea ʻokú ne ʻafioʻi e meʻa kotoa pē. ʻOku tau fakamoʻoni ko ia ʻa e Tupuʻanga ʻo e māmaní mo e ngaahi māmani taʻe faʻalaua, ʻo fakafou ʻi Hono ʻAlo Tofu pē Taha Naʻe Fakatupú.7

Ko e ʻOtuá ko ha tokotaha fakatāutaha pea mo e Tamai ʻo hotau ngaahi laumālié.

Ko e fānau fakalaumālie kitautolu ʻa e ʻOtua ko ʻetau Tamai Hēvaní. … Ko ha mēmipa kitautolu ʻo hono fāmilí. … Naʻa tau nofo fuoloa mo ia ʻo laui kuonga ʻi he maama fakalaumālié. … Naʻá ne ʻomi ha palani ʻo e fakalakalaká mo e fakamoʻuí ʻe malava ai ke tau fakalakalaka mo laka kimuʻa kae ʻoua ke tau hoko ʻo hangē ko iá, ʻo kapau te tau faivelenga mo faitotonu ʻi he meʻa kotoa pē.8

ʻOku akoʻi kitautolu ʻi he Folofolá ko e ʻOtuá ko ʻetau Tamai Taʻengata moʻoní ia, kae ʻikai ʻi ha founga fakatātā pē. Ko e ngaahi lea ko ia ne folofola ʻaki ʻe hotau Huhuʻí kia Mele ʻi he veʻe faʻitoka kuó ne toetuʻu mei ai mo ne ikunaʻi ai ʻa e maté, ko e ngaahi lea fakaʻeiʻeiki mo nāunauʻia tahá ia: “ʻOua naʻa ala kiate au; he ʻoku teʻeki ai te u ʻalu hake ki heʻeku Tamaí: ka ke ʻalu ki hoku kāingá, ʻo tala kiate kinautolu ʻoku ou ʻalu hake ki heʻeku tamaí, mo hoʻomou Tamaí; pea ki hoku ʻOtuá, mo homou ʻOtuá.” [Sione 20:17.] ʻI he ngaahi leá ni, ʻoku fakahaaʻi taʻetoeveiveiua ai ʻa e moʻoni fekauʻaki mo e tuʻunga Fakatamai ʻo e ʻOtuá ʻe hono ʻAlo pē taha naʻe fakatupú, ʻa ia kuó ne tala ko hotau Taʻoketé ia pea ʻoku tau Tamai taʻengata pē ki he tokotaha tatau.9

ʻOku ou fakafetaʻi ki hono toe fakafoki mai e ʻilo fekauʻaki mo e ʻOtuá mo ʻene ngaahi fonó ʻi hotau kuongá pea ʻoku tau ʻiloʻi ʻe kitautolu kāingalotu ʻo e Siasí ko ha tokotaha fakatāutaha ia kae ʻikai hangē ko e lau ʻa ha kau lotu ʻe niʻihi, “ko ha falukunga fono [taʻemaau] ʻoku tētē hangē ha kakapu ʻi he ʻunivēsí.” ʻOku ou fakafetaʻi heʻetau ʻiloʻi ko ia ʻetau Tamai ʻi hēvaní, ko e Tamai hotau ngaahi laumālié pea naʻá ne ʻomi e ngaahi fonó ke tau lava ʻo fakalakalaka mo tupulaki ai kae ʻoua ke tau hoko ʻo hangē ko iá. Pea ʻoku ou fakafetaʻi ke ʻiloʻi ko ha tokotaha taʻefakangatangata mo taʻengata ia ʻokú ne ʻafioʻi e meʻa kotoa pē pea ne mafeia e meʻa kotoa pē pea ʻoku kau ʻi heʻene fakalakalaká ʻa hono maʻu ha ʻilo mo e mālohi ʻoku lahi angé, ʻo ʻikai ke toe fakahaohaoaʻi ʻaki hono ngaahi ʻulungāanga fakaʻotuá, ka ʻi hono fakalahi mo fakatupulaki hono ngaahi puleʻangá.10

ʻOku ou manatu ki ha kupuʻi lea ʻi he Mataʻitofe Mahuʻingá, ʻi he mata-meʻa-hā-mai ʻa Mōsesé ʻa ia naʻe hoko he taimi naʻe ʻave ai ʻa Mōsese ki ha moʻunga māʻolunga ʻo ne fetalanoaʻaki mata-ki he-mata mo e ʻOtuá. Naʻe fakahā ʻe he ʻEikí kia Mōsese ʻa e “ngāue ʻa [Hono] nimá,” pea naʻe mamata ʻa Mōsese ki he māmaní pea mo e fānau kotoa ʻa e tangatá ʻo aʻu ki he toʻu tangata fakamuimuitahá. “Pea naʻe hoko ʻo pehē naʻe fakatau folofola ʻa Mōsese ki he ʻEikí ʻo pehē: Ke ke ʻaloʻofa ki hoʻo tamaioʻeikí, ʻe ʻOtua, pea fakahā kiate au ʻo kau ki he māmani ko ʻení, pea mo hono kakai ʻo iá, kae ʻumaʻā ʻa e ngaahi langí pea ʻe fiemālie ʻa hoʻo tamaioʻeikí.

“Pea naʻe folofola ʻa e ʻEiki ko e ʻOtuá kia Mōsese ʻo pehē: Ko e ngaahi langí, ʻoku lahi, pea ʻoku ʻikai lava ke faʻa lau ia ʻe he tangatá; ka ʻoku malaua ia kiate au he ʻoku ʻaʻaku ia.” [Mōsese 1:35–37.]

… ʻOku ou manatu ki he ʻikai lava ke malaua e lahi ʻo e māmaní pea mo hono lahi faufauá pea ʻikai hano ngataʻanga pea ʻikai ko e ngataʻangá ia. ʻOku faʻu ʻe he Tamaí e ngaahi māmaní ko e fakataumuʻa ke fakakakai—peá ne tuku ki ai hono ngaahi fohá mo e ʻofefiné. ʻOku talamai ʻi he vahe 76 ʻo e Tokāteline mo e Ngaahi Fuakavá naʻe fakafou ʻi he ʻAlo ʻo e ʻOtuá “e ngaahi māmá pea ko hono kakai ʻo iá, ko e ngaahi foha mo e ngaahi ʻofefine kuo fakatupu ki ha ʻOtua.” [T&F 76:24.]

ʻOku tau ako mei he folofola ne u toki lau atú pea mo ha ngaahi fakahā kehe mei he ʻEikí, ko e tangatá ʻa e fakatupu mahuʻinga taha ʻa ʻetau Tamaí. ʻI he meʻa-hā-mai tatau ne fai kia Mōsesé, naʻe folofola ai e Tamaí: “Pea ʻi he mole atu ʻa e māmani ʻe tahá pea mo hono ngaahi langi ʻo iá, ʻe pehē pē ʻene hoko mai ha toe māmani ʻe taha; pea ʻoku ʻikai hano ngataʻanga ʻo ʻeku ngaahi ngāué pe ko ʻeku ngaahi leá. He vakai ko ʻeku ngāué ʻeni mo hoku nāunaú —ke fakahoko ʻa e moʻui taʻe-faʻa-maté mo e moʻui taʻengata ʻa e tangatá.”[Mōsese 1:39.]

ʻOku ou ʻilo ko Sīsū Kalaisi ʻa e ʻAlo ʻo e ʻOtuá pea naʻá ne maʻu mei heʻene Tamaí ʻa e mālohi ke veteange ʻa e tangatá mei he mate fakalaumālie mo fakaesinó naʻe hoko mai ki he māmaní tuʻunga ʻi he Hinga ʻa ʻĀtamá.14

“ʻOku ʻikai ke toʻo ia ʻe ha taha ʻiate au, ka ʻoku ou tuku hifo ia ʻe au pē. ʻOku ou mafai ke tuku hifo ia, pea ʻoku ou mafai ke toe toʻo ia. Ko e fekaú ni kuó u maʻu mei heʻeku Tamaí.” (Sione 10:17–18.)15
